Autoimmune Complications

Standard

I’ve never shared this before. This is incredibly personal and vulnerable.

IBDs (inflammatory bowel diseases) are “invisible diseases.” You can’t see the disaster that is taking place on the inside of body with the naked eye.

However, what people don’t realize is that there are many things that come along with these diseases, manifestations, that CAN be seen with the naked eye. For example, for the last ten years, my back has been constantly “breaking out.” It itches, it hurts, it’s embarrassing, it’s not attractive (in my eyes) in the slightest and now, my chest is starting to do it.

Autoimmune diseases effect way more than the “official diagnosis.” This is just one example and this link here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3273725/ is great for additional information regarding skin manifestations with IBDs.
