Strong & Brave

Standard

Nothing about this “sick life” is easy. There are the primary diagnoses, the secondary, the tertiary & so on, that only seem to complicate & create additional issues as time goes by.
I’ve spent the last decade chronically ill & the future looks even more complicated.
It’s a rare thing to go to the doctor & ever hear anything positive. It’s rare to have days where I can actually enjoy myself.
Unfortunately, life has become learning to deal with things & plan AROUND my ailments. It’s hard. It’s depressing. It’s mind-boggling.
I’m human. I’m not made of stone & they’re are days where I want to crawl in a hole & disappear, but I don’t. I refuse.
I’ve been broken down in every possible way. I’ve cheated death on more than one account. There are times I’m so sick, lying on the bathroom floor with nothing but thoughts of self-harm & wishing for God to just take me away.
But then I remember that God gave me this life. This is all His plan. I do NOT understand it in the slightest, but I do know that it’s not for me to take into my own hands. So I pray, I pick myself up off the floor & I do my best to make it through the day.
God made me strong. He also made me brave. I’m a warrior.
